How do I account for pregnancy?

Short Answer

During pregnancy, you should be in a 300-500 Calorie surplus over maintenance for healthy fetal development.[1]

Long answer

If you exercise, you’ll need to be more towards the higher end of 500 Calories. If you are sedentary during pregnancy, you’ll want to be more towards 300 Calories.[2][3]

Underweight - Gain 30-40lbs

Normal Weight - Gain 25-30lbs

Overweight - Gain 15-25lbs

Under 62" - Gain 15-25lbs
